Full Bellies aim to alleviate poverty through providing food in schools to children and families that are identified by the schools as needing a helping hand. What makes them different is the food delivered into schools covers a full day of nutrition (morning tea, fruit break, lunch and a little something for after school). The main outcome Full Bellies is aiming to achieve, is to eliminate the impact of hunger on children’s ability to learn, participate and engage fully in their learning experience at primary school.
If we can remove the question of “Should I eat it or save it” for these children, then the barrier of a hungry tummy can be removed.
